As Vice President of Marketing & Communications, Stacey maintains responsibility for developing bold and effective strategies to advance Hopelab’s mission. He leads the strategic direction for the organization’s marketing and communications functions – guiding partner marketing, creative development, and communications strategy.
With 20 plus years’ experience spanning the nonprofit, corporate, and government sectors, Stacey has broad expertise delivering brand strategies in high-stakes environments. He has held leadership positions at youth-focused nonprofit organizations, community philanthropy, and multinational advertising agencies. Prior to Hopelab, Stacey led marketing & communications at the East Bay Community Foundation where he was instrumental in developing its new strategic framework and codified a brand narrative in support of its social justice and racial equity focus.
Earlier in his career, Stacey led marketing & communications for Medicines360, a global nonprofit pharmaceutical company focused on closing critical gaps in women’s access to healthcare. His professional pursuits began as an intern at BET, and later in account management roles at Ogilvy & Mather, TBWA\\Chiat\\Day, and Carol H Williams Advertising — then as General Manager at Loomis Group.
Stacey is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he earned a BA in Journalism. He holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Baruch College, New York and has the distinction of being a 2004 National Urban Fellow. Originally from North Carolina, Stacey grew up in Baltimore and currently lives in Oakland with his wife and their two children.
