“A Sunday With My Father” is my glimpse into a hopeful future. This drawing imagines a world where Black trans liberation is understood as essential to the liberation of us all. We are not truly free until the most marginalized among us are free. I believe Black trans people have always been visionaries, leaders, and builders of new possibilities. Our leadership is important not only for our own communities but also for creating a more just future for everyone.

At the center, a Black trans father teaches his son how to paint. This moment represents inheritance, care, and possibility. It is about elders having the time and freedom to pour into the next generation, passing down knowledge, love, and dreams instead of only stories of survival. This is a future where Black people can rest, thrive, and build something beautiful together.
