imi guide is a free, research-backed mental health tool that helps LGBTQ+ youth cope with stress through practical, relevant, and inclusive approaches. imi was made for and with LGBTQ+ teens; it breaks down important topics like stress, LGBTQ+ identity, internalized stigma, and gender identity and expression through interactive resources, stories, and activities. Initial results from a randomized controlled trial, conducted by researchers at Hopelab and The Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania, show that imi boosts positive coping skills and mindsets that are important for supporting the mental health of LGBTQ+ youth.

“Queer and Trans youth deserve a world full of love, acceptance, and joy, and we each have a role in creating that future,” said Joshua Lavra, Creative Lead at Hopelab. “I’m grateful for the Anthem Awards recognizing the importance of tools like imi, and am forever grateful to the imi team, the hundreds of LGBTQ+ teens who helped create imi, and the 50,000+ who have already started to explore imi and their identities.”

The Anthem Awards was launched in response to the prevalence social good has taken within the national conversation and cultural zeitgeist in recent years. The 2nd Annual competition received nearly 2,000 entries from 43 countries worldwide. By amplifying the voices that spark global change, the Anthem Awards are defining a new benchmark for impactful work that inspires others to take action in their communities. A portion of program revenue will fund a new grant program supporting emerging individuals and organizations working to advance the causes recognized in the 2nd Annual Anthem Awards.
